Elaine never missed the opportunity to call family and friends to sing “Happy Birthday” and wish them well. Halloween was her favourite time of the year, and she won many prizes for her great costume ideas. Elaine moved to Halifax to work with PSAC and later retired from DND – Federal Government in Halifax. While attending the Interprovincial School of the Deaf, Elaine represented Canada at the World Games held by the Federation of Silent Sports in Sweden playing volleyball. Born in Cape Breton, NS, she was the daughter of John Hugh and Margaret (Burke). Elaine MacInnis, age 65, of Halifax passed away on October 18th, 2022. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Services Ltd. Pierre, Cheticamp, with Father Pierre Antoine St. A funeral mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Thérèse was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Paul Harris sons, Willie John Harris and Joseph Daniel Harris daughter, Marie Sylvia (Harris) Marchand brothers, Jean Nazaire Roach, Gracien Roach, and Albert Roach sisters, Bella Poirier, Laurette Harris, Yvonne Gallant, Zelina Roach, Louise Ann Chiasson, and Marie Annie Larade. Thérèse is survived by a son, Joseph Russell Harris daughters, Dianne (Ronnie) Landry, Corinne Harris, Annette Marchand, Eileen Romard, and Lisette Poirier sisters, Helene Rose Roach, Elizabeth AuCoin, Emilia Harris, and Cecile Felix 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was involved in many auxiliaries and was a volunteer at the Foyer Père Fiset. Thérèse worked at the fish plant for 26 years. Thérèse was a daughter of the late Louis and the late Rose (Chiasson) Roach. Marie Thérèse Harris, age 90, Plateau, occurred on Saturday, October 15th, 2022, at home.
